Acoustics that leave room for the monumental character | Het Hof by Blooming
Restaurant, meeting venue and event venue: at Het Hof by blooming in Bergen, it all comes together under one roof in a monumental building. The character of this special building had to be preserved. So, when three rooms needed improved acoustics, the search was on for a solution that combined acoustics and aesthetics in a fitting way.

Bringing acoustics and aesthetics together
Het Hof by blooming wanted to improve the acoustics in the building without compromising its listed interior. Our sister company EASY Noise Control visited the site to explore a solution that would bring acoustics and aesthetics together harmoniously.
The ceiling ornaments were an important starting point in this regard. The acoustic solution was not allowed to obscure these distinctive elements or disrupt the original shape of the rooms. Therefore, suspended ceiling islands from EASYfelt were chosen, which could be positioned around the existing ornaments.
Custom PET felt ceiling islands
For the project, 62 ceiling islands made from 25 mm thick PET felt were installed across three spaces. The islands were finished in Cotton Beige and produced in various shapes and sizes. By opting for bespoke solutions, the ceiling islands could be carefully tailored to the layout and architecture of each space.
The soft, calm colour complements the existing interior, while the different shapes create a playful effect on the ceiling. The result is a bespoke solution that enhances the interior and creates a more pleasant acoustic environment.
From advice to implementation
This project brought together the expertise of EASY Noise Control and the capabilities of EASYfelt beautifully. EASY Noise Control provided the advice, further implementation and installation. EASYfelt supplied the bespoke ceiling islands made from PET felt.
The result shows that an acoustic solution can also blend into a listed interior while respecting what is already there. The characteristic ornaments remain a fully integrated part of the space, while the addition of PET felt provides greater acoustic comfort.
